Peanut Brittle

A great Peanut Brittle recipe that you and your family will enjoy! This delicious brittle recipe also makes a great homemade candy gift from your kitchen.



PRINT

2 cups sugar

1 cup white corn syrup

1/2 cup boiling water

1 tsp margarine

1 tsp soda

2 cups raw peanuts

1 tsp vanilla


1. Boil sugar, corn syrup and water in heavy, large saucepan to softball stage (236 degrees). Add peanuts and cook until golden brown (about 290 degrees). Remove from heat.

2. Add soda, margarine and vanilla and stir well.

3. Pour onto 2 buttered cookie sheets.

4. When cool, break into pieces.
