Old Fashioned Fudge Recipe

Looking for that Old Fashioned Fudge recipe? Here it is - and well worth the effort! This is the Hershey fudge recipe that gives a delicious firm chocolate candy that melts in your mouth!

3 cups sugar

2/3 cup cocoa

1 1/2 cups evaporated milk

1 Tbsp butter or margarine

1 tsp vanilla

1 cup pecans

1. Combine sugar and cocoa in heavy saucepan then stir in milk. Heat mixture over medium heat to soft ball stage.

2. Add nuts, butter and vanilla and beat until mixture loses its gloss.

3. Pour onto buttered dish. Cool. Cut into squares.

Tips:

Mix sugar and cocoa together before adding the milk to avoid lumpy mixture.

Cook mixture slighty beyond soft ball stage for good firm candy.
