Old Fashion Fudge

You will love this old fashion fudge like Mom used to make! Family will enjoy this delicious cocoa fudge and it also makes a welcomed homemade gift. Put the fudge on a pretty holiday plate and wrap with pretty tissue paper or cellophane for a beautiful gift from your kitchen.

Old Fashion Chocolate Fudge

3 cups sugar

4 heaping Tbsp cocoa

3 Tbsp light corn syrup

1 cup evaporated milk

6 Tbsp butter

1 cup chopped pecans

1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1. Mix sugar and cocoa in heavy saucepan. Add corn syrup and milk. Cook over medium heat until a small drop forms a soft ball in cold water (234 to 240 degrees F on a candy thermometer).

2. Remove from heat. Add butter, pecans, and vanilla. Beat with mixer or by hand.

3. Pour into a slightly buttered glass dish and cut into squares.

Tip: Work fast, as mixture thickens quickly.
