Microwave Pralines

These Microwave Pralines are easy to make and taste great! If you are looking for easy praline recipes and only want one bowl to clean up, you will love this recipe. This pecan praline recipe is fast and easy for those days when you don't have time to spend over the stove top.

This is a popular candy, especially during the holidays, but don't wait to enjoy this mouth-watering dessert!

The kids can get involved in helping assemble the ingredients, but be very careful with the hot bowl during the cooking process and be aware that the candy is very hot so watch the little fingers. Where the kids can really help out is wrapping the individual candies. They can add their special touch with ribbons or stickers on the cellophane wrapping. Let them use their imagination and have fun!

Microwave Pralines

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups light brown sugar firmly packed

2/3 cup evaporated milk

1/8 tsp Salt

2 Tbsp butter (or margarine)

1 1/2 cup pecan halves

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:

1. Combine sugar, milk and salt in a 3 quart casserole bowl; mix well.

2. Add butter and microwave on high for 10 to 12 minutes. Check to make sure mixture has reached the soft ball stage.

3. Add pecans and vanilla. Cool slightly.

4. Drop by tablespoons onto wax paper and let cool.

Tips: 1. Watch the mixture as it cooks to be sure it does not boil over the bowl.

2. This recipe, pecan pralines, makes a beautiful presentation if given as a gift. Place the pralines on a pretty plate or in a holiday tin or gift box. Wrap the plate with cellophane or plastic wrap and top with a pretty bow or curling ribbon if giving as a gift.

You can also wrap each praline individually in cellophane or plastic wrap and tie with curling ribbon for a pretty gift. Keep these on hand during the holidays as tasty momentos to give to family and friends who drop by.
