Lollipop Recipe

This Lollipop Recipe makes yummy homemade lollipops that you will enjoy cooking with the kids! Choose your favorite flavor - any flavor of gelatin will do.

Learn how to make lollipops and you will always have great treats for Halloween and parties favors!

3/4 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup light corn syrup 1/4 cup butter

1 (3-ounce) box cherry gelatin dessert mix

Nonstick cooking spray

Special Equipment:

20 (4-inch) lollipop sticks

Metal tablespoon-size measuring spoon

Candy thermometer

1. Butter 2 large baking sheets. Arrange 10 lollipop sticks on each baking sheet, spacing them evenly apart.

2. Stir sugar, corn syrup, and butter in small saucepan over low heat until sugar has dissolved. Slowly bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Continue cooking for 7 minutes, or until candy thermometer registers 275 degrees F.

3. Stir in gelatin until smooth. (Be sure the gelatin is thoroughly dissolved.)

4. Using a metal tablespoon and working quickly, spoon syrup over 1 end of each lollipop stick. Cool completely.

5. Wrap each lollipop in plastic or cellophane wrappers and store in an airtight container.

Tips: 1. Spray measuring cup with nonstick spray when measuring corn syrup; it will pour out easier.

2. You may use your favorite flavor gelatin to make the lollipops.

3. Some cooks like to increase the amount of gelatin to increase the intensity of the flavor so you decide how much flavor you like.
