Making Kid Friendly Candy Recipes

Cooking with kids using our kid friendly, easy candy making recipes can be so much fun for both you and them! These recipes will help your child learn how to make candy, which is not only fun now, but will also allow you and your kids to build some wonderful memories.

We have some fun, kid friendly recipes to share with you, including good chocolate candy recipes, peanut butter candy recipes, and other kid favorites. Also included are some tips for safely cooking with kids in the kitchen.

When Cooking With Kids, safety should always be of primary concern. Here are a few tips to assure a safe cooking experience.

  • Never leave your child unattended around a hot stove.
  • Remind your little one that the burners stay hot even after they are turned off.
  • Be very careful that dish towels, hot pads, etc. do not get near a burner and catch fire.
  • Remember that cooking candy (or any food that is boiling) can bubble and spatter so be mindful of where your child is standing.

    are involved in the recipe preparation, monitor your child closely.

  • Watch little fingers if a mixer is being used.
  • Candy recipes should be followed closely so this is a great opportunlity to teach your child about measuring ingredients (and they won't even know that it is educational).
  • After a little instruction in learning to measure, your child can measure and mix the ingredients to feel that they are a real part of the candy making process.
  • Look for kid friendly recipes that require a minimum of ingredients and preparation time and effort.
  • Base your child's involvement on his/her experience in the kitchen and the child's age. Start slowly to allow them a chance to learn and become comfortable in the kitchen.
