Chocolate Ornaments

These little Chocolate Ornaments are one of our tasty holiday candy recipes. They are easy to make Christmas candy gifts that are pretty to look at and fun to eat!



Chocolate Ornaments

Ingredients:

1 pkg (8 squares) semisweet baking chocolate

4 oz cream cheesed, cubed and softened

1 tub (8 oz) Cool Whip, thawed

Assorted coatings such as: powdered sugar, finely chopped nuts, toasted coconut, grated semisweet baking chocolate, cookie crumbs or colored sprinkles


Directions:

1. Microwave chocolate in large microwavable bowl on HIGH 2 minutes or until chocolate is almost melted, stirring half way through heating time. Stir until chocolate is completely melted.

2. Add cream cheese and stir with wire whisk until smooth. Cool about 20 minutes or until room temperature. Gently stir in whipped topping with wire whisk until blended.

3. Freeze 1 hour; scoop into 1 inch balls. If necessary, freeze balls 30 minutes longer or until firm enough to roll. Roll in assorted coatings as desired. Refrigerate or freeze until ready to serve.

TIPS: If freezing, first freeze in single layer on baking sheet, then pack in plastic boxes with was paper between layers and store in freezer.

Makes 2 1/2 to 3 dozen
