Baked Caramel Corn

Ingredients: 1 cup butter or margarine 2 cups firmly packed brown sugar 1/2 cup light or dark corn syrup 1 tsp salt 1 tsp vanilla 1/2 tsp baking soda 6 quarts popped corn Directions:
1. Melt butter and stir in brown sugar, corn syrup, and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, then boil without stirring for 5 minutes. 2. Remove from heat and stir in baking soda and vanilla. 3. Gradually pour over corn and turn onto two large shallow baking pans. Bake at 250 degrees for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. 4. Remove and cool. Makes 5 quarts.
