Almond Joy Recipe

This Almond Joy recipe is a great copy of a favorite candy bar. A delicious combination of coconut, chocolate and almonds that can't be beat! Impress family and friends with your fun homemade version of this great candy bar. If you would like to change things up a bit try using dark chocolate as the topping.

Not only will family and friends enjoy this candy, but it also makes a great item to use at school or church fund raisers if you need to donate a food item. It also makes a perfect gift especially around the holidays.

Almost Almond Joy Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup butter or margarine

1 can sweetened condensed milk

1 pound confectioners sugar

1 package coconut

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 (16 ounce) package semisweet chocolate chips

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Almonds


Directions

1. Melt butter or margarine. Add sweetened condensed milk, sugar, coconut and vanilla extract.

2. Mix well and turn onto a large cookie sheet. Press almonds into coconut mixture (space so that the candy can be cut into 1-inch squares). Refrigerate until solid.

3. Melt oil and chocolate chips in double boiler.

4. Cut candy in 1-inch squares and dip individually into chocolate mixture. (Use a fork for dipping.)
