Almond Brittle Recipe

This almond brittle recipe, Almond Butter Crunch, is a delicious almond toffee recipe. And what could go better with almond brittle than chocolate! The addition of chocolate and more nuts top and bottom make it an extra special treat! Tasty toffee wrapped in chocolate - yum! Don't miss this delightful toffee candy recipe.

Making homemade candy for the family takes a little extra effort but the smiles on their faces makes it all worth the effort. One of the great things about this delicious recipe is that it also makes a great gift idea when you want to give something a little special. A pretty plate and a beautiful bow makes for a nice gift presentation.

Almond Butter Crunch

PRINT

Ingredients

1 cup butter

1 1/3 cups granulated sugar

1 tablespoon light corn syrup

3 tablespoons water

1 cup coarsely chopped blanched almonds, toasted

4 (4 1/2 ounce) bars milk chocolate, melted

1 cup finely chopped blanched almonds, toasted


Directions

1. Melt butter in heavy 2-quart saucepan. Add sugar, corn syrup, and water. Cook, stirring often, to hard-crack stage (300 degrees on candy thermomter .) (Watch closely after temperature reaches 280 degrees.)

2. Quickly stir in coarsely chopped nuts; spread in well-greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Cool thoroughly.

3. Turn out on waxed paper and spread top with half the chocolate. Sprinkle with half of finely chopped nuts.

4. Cover with wax paper; invert and top with remaining chocolate and nuts. If necessary, chill to firm chocolate. Break in pieces.
